Welcome to Buenos Aires

Upon arrival, you will be transferred from the airport to your hotel in the city. The rest of the day will be free to begin exploring Buenos Aires at your own pace.

As Argentina’s capital, the city offers a vibrant mix of architecture, culture, and everyday life. Its neighborhoods reflect a blend of influences, where historic buildings, modern spaces, and local traditions coexist.

This first day is an opportunity to ease into the journey, whether by walking through the city’s streets, stopping at a café, or simply taking in the atmosphere that defines Buenos Aires.

Exploring the City

This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel to discover Buenos Aires on a half-day city tour. The journey begins at Plaza de Mayo, the historical and political center, where you will see the Government House and gain insight into the city’s past.

You will then continue to San Telmo, known for its cobblestone streets and traditional atmosphere, before heading to La Boca, where colorful houses and street life reflect the city’s artistic spirit. The walk along Caminito offers a lively introduction to tango culture.

The tour continues to Recoleta, an elegant neighborhood defined by grand architecture and wide avenues, offering a different perspective on the city’s character. After the visit, you will return to your hotel.

An Evening of Tango
In the evening, you will be picked up again to experience one of Argentina’s most distinctive traditions. Tango is deeply connected to the country’s history, shaped by immigration, music, and emotion.

During the show, you will enjoy a live performance that brings together music, dance, and storytelling in an intimate setting. The experience is complemented by dinner, featuring Argentine and international cuisine, along with local wines.

After the performance, you will return to your hotel, closing a day that blends the city’s highlights with its cultural identity.

From Buenos Aires to El Calafate

Today, you will leave Buenos Aires and fly south to El Calafate, the gateway to Argentina’s glacier region. A transfer will take you to the airport for your flight, marking the beginning of your Patagonia experience.

Welcome to El Calafate
Upon arrival, you will be driven to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free to relax or begin exploring the surroundings at your own pace.

Located on the shores of Lake Argentino, El Calafate serves as the base for visiting some of Patagonia’s most remarkable landscapes. Among them is the Perito Moreno Glacier, one of the few glaciers in the world that continues to advance.

The region is also home to other impressive glaciers such as Upsala and Spegazzini, each contributing to the scale and character of this glacial environment. Beyond the ice fields, the area offers open landscapes and quiet viewpoints that invite you to explore further.

Meeting the Glacier

This morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and head to Los Glaciares National Park to visit the Perito Moreno Glacier. The journey takes you across the Patagonian steppe, gradually revealing the landscapes that define this region.

Once inside the park, a network of walkways allows you to explore different viewpoints, offering close and varied perspectives of the glacier. As you move along these paths, you will be able to observe the scale of the ice wall and the shifting textures of its surface. At times, large chunks of ice break off and fall into the lake below, a natural process that highlights the glacier’s constant movement.

During the visit, your guide will share insights about the formation and behavior of the glacier, adding context to what you are seeing.

Up Close on the Water
To complete the experience, you will take a boat navigation that brings you closer to the glacier’s front wall. From the water, the height and size of the ice become even more evident, offering a different perspective of this natural landmark.

At the end of the excursion, you will return to your hotel in El Calafate.

From El Calafate to El Chaltén

Today, you will leave El Calafate and travel north to El Chaltén, known as Argentina’s trekking capital. The journey follows Route 40 across the Patagonian steppe, with wide open landscapes stretching to the horizon.

Along the way, you will pass the La Leona River, which connects Lake Argentino and Lake Viedma, and make brief stops to take in the surroundings before continuing toward the mountains.

Welcome to El Chaltén
Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel. The rest of the day will be free to relax or begin exploring the village at your own pace.

Set at the base of Mount Fitz Roy, El Chaltén is surrounded by glaciers, rivers, and forests, making it the starting point for many of the region’s hiking trails. Whether you choose to walk through town, visit nearby viewpoints, or simply take in the landscape, this first afternoon offers a quiet introduction to Patagonia’s outdoor setting.

Exploring Patagonia on Foot

Today is dedicated to discovering El Chaltén’s trails at your own pace. The area offers a wide network of well-marked paths, allowing you to choose routes according to your interests and energy level.

One of the more accessible options is the walk to the Cerro Torre viewpoint. This shorter trail leads you through lenga forests and along the Río de las Vueltas, offering open views of the surrounding mountains and a chance to observe local birdlife along the way.

For a more demanding experience, you may choose to hike to Laguna de los Tres, located at the base of Mount Fitz Roy. This full-day trek takes you across varied landscapes, including valleys, streams, and forested sections, before reaching one of the most iconic viewpoints in Patagonia. From there, the scenery opens to reveal the sharp peaks of Fitz Roy rising above glacial waters.

Whether you opt for a shorter walk or a longer trek, the day invites you to experience the landscapes of Patagonia at your own rhythm.

A Final Morning in El Chaltén

This morning is free to enjoy your last moments in El Chaltén. You may choose to take a short walk around the village or head out on an easy hike to Chorrillo del Salto, a nearby waterfall surrounded by native forest. It is a gentle way to experience the landscape before continuing your journey.

Back to El Calafate
In the afternoon, you will board your bus back to El Calafate. The drive takes around three hours, offering time to relax while taking in the changing Patagonian scenery along the way.

Upon arrival, you will be dropped off at your hotel, where you can settle in and enjoy the rest of the day at your own pace.

Across Patagonia to Puerto Natales

This morning, you will make your way to the bus station to begin your journey to Puerto Natales. The route crosses into Chile, traveling through wide stretches of Patagonian steppe framed by distant mountains.

After several hours on the road, you will arrive in Puerto Natales, a small town set along the fjords and known as the gateway to Torres del Paine National Park. From the bus station, you will head to your hotel and have some time to settle in before continuing with the day.

Discovering Puerto Natales
Later, you will explore the town on a guided city tour. Walking through its streets offers insight into the region’s history, shaped by early settlers, maritime routes, and ranching traditions.

Stops along the way include local landmarks such as the Historical Museum and traditional buildings that reflect life in Patagonia during the early 20th century. Along the waterfront, the views of the fjord and surrounding landscapes add context to the town’s connection with nature and its role as a regional hub.

After the visit, you will return to your hotel, with the evening free to enjoy the quiet atmosphere of Puerto Natales.

Into Patagonia’s Iconic Landscapes

Today, you will set out from Puerto Natales to explore Torres del Paine National Park. The journey begins with a visit to the Milodón Cave, located just outside the city, where you will learn about this prehistoric site and its connection to early discoveries in the region.

From there, the route continues toward the park, where the scenery opens into a mix of mountains, lakes, and wide valleys. As you move through the landscape, you will stop at different viewpoints to take in the surroundings, including Grey Lake, where floating icebergs and distant peaks define the horizon. There will be time for a short walk along the lakeshore and a break for lunch in the area.

The day continues with visits to Salto Grande, a waterfall known for its striking turquoise waters, and viewpoints overlooking Nordenskjöld Lake. Each stop offers a different perspective of the park’s varied terrain and changing colors.

By late afternoon, you will return to Puerto Natales, completing a full day immersed in one of Patagonia’s most renowned natural areas.

From Puerto Natales to Punta Arenas

Today, you will make your way to the bus station in Puerto Natales to travel to Punta Arenas. The journey takes around three hours, following the southern Patagonian landscape toward the Strait of Magellan.

Upon arrival, you will head to your accommodation and have time to begin exploring the city.

Located along the historic maritime route between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans, Punta Arenas developed as an important port long before the Panama Canal existed. Its streets still reflect that past, with European-style buildings, colorful houses, and views of the surrounding landscapes.

Optional Experience: Magdalena Island
For those looking to explore further, an optional excursion takes you by boat across the Strait of Magellan to Magdalena Island. This protected area is home to a large colony of Magellanic penguins, offering the chance to observe them in their natural habitat.

During the visit, you will walk along marked paths through the island, surrounded by coastal scenery and wildlife. The excursion may also offer sightings of marine species along the way.

After the experience, you will return to Punta Arenas and your hotel, closing the day in this southern gateway to Antarctica.

Across Patagonia to Tierra del Fuego

Early in the morning, you will head to the bus station to begin a full-day journey to Ushuaia. This route crosses remote areas of Patagonia and includes border crossings between Chile and Argentina.

As you travel across the steppe, the landscape stretches into open plains before reaching the Strait of Magellan, where you will board a ferry to cross this historic waterway. Back on land, the route continues through southern Chile before entering Tierra del Fuego.

Gradually, the scenery begins to change, with forests, mountains, and wildlife appearing as you approach Ushuaia.

Welcome to Ushuaia
Upon arrival, you will make your way to your hotel. The rest of the afternoon will be free to explore the town at your own pace.

Known as the southernmost city in the world, Ushuaia sits between the mountains and the Beagle Channel. Its compact size makes it easy to explore on foot, with options to visit local museums, walk along the waterfront, or simply take in the atmosphere of this remote setting.

This marks the final stage of your journey through Patagonia, in a place defined by its location and history.

Into Patagonia’s Southern Landscapes

Today, you will set out on a full-day adventure in Tierra del Fuego National Park, located just outside Ushuaia along the Beagle Channel. Surrounded by forests, mountains, and coastal scenery, this protected area offers a different perspective of Patagonia’s southern edge.

The experience begins at Ensenada Bay, where you will take in views of the channel before starting a coastal hike. The trail follows the shoreline through native forest, with opportunities to observe local flora and traces of the region’s early inhabitants.

After the hike, you will reach Lake Roca, where you will have time to rest and enjoy lunch in a natural setting.

Paddling to the End of the Road
In the afternoon, the journey continues on the water with a canoeing experience along the Lapataia River. As you paddle through calm waters, the landscape gradually opens toward Lapataia Bay, where the Pan-American Highway comes to its southern end.

This combination of hiking and paddling allows you to experience the park from different angles, connecting land and water in a remote and quiet environment.

At the end of the excursion, you will return to your hotel in Ushuaia, closing your time in Patagonia.

Sailing the Beagle Channel

Today, you will make your way to the pier in Ushuaia to begin a navigation through the Beagle Channel. This four-hour boat trip offers a different perspective of the region, sailing between Argentina and Chile along this historic waterway.

As you move through the channel, you will pass by small islands and observe local wildlife, including seabirds and sea lions. One of the highlights is the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse, a recognizable landmark set against the surrounding landscape.

There will also be a stop at Bridges Island, where you can walk along marked trails and learn about the natural environment and the history of the Yámana people who once inhabited this area.

After the navigation, you will return to the port and make your way back to your hotel.

Back to Buenos Aires
