The Sacred Valley comes to life through its markets, ancient ruins, and traditional Andean communities. Today, discover two of its most fascinating destinations, beginning in Pisac, a picturesque town located around 32 kilometres northeast of Cusco.

Explore the town’s lively market, where local artisans display colourful textiles, ceramics, and other handmade crafts. You can also visit the colonial church, where Quechua masses are celebrated on Sundays, offering an insight into the region’s enduring cultural traditions.

After lunch at a local restaurant, continue to Ollantaytambo, one of the most remarkable surviving examples of Inca urban planning. Built into the mountainside, this impressive complex served as an important military, religious, and agricultural centre. Explore its terraces and monumental stone structures while taking in the spectacular views across the surrounding valley.

At the end of the day, you will be dropped off at your hotel in the Sacred Valley, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful Andean surroundings.

Full-Day Maras, Moray & Ollantaytambo

Today, venture deeper into the Sacred Valley and discover some of the region’s most intriguing landscapes and archaeological treasures. Your first stop is the Raqchi viewpoint, where the Urubamba Valley unfolds below you, offering a spectacular introduction to the day.

From there, continue to Moray, an extraordinary Inca site made up of enormous concentric terraces carved into the earth. Their unusual design is believed to have been used for agricultural experimentation, giving the site the appearance of a vast natural amphitheatre.

The landscape changes again at the Maras salt mines, where thousands of small terraces cascade down the mountainside. Fed by a natural saltwater spring, the ponds have been used for salt production for centuries and create one of the Sacred Valley’s most distinctive sights. Enjoy a panoramic visit before continuing to Urubamba for lunch at a local restaurant.

In the afternoon, explore Ollantaytambo, one of the largest and most impressive archaeological complexes in Peru. Perched dramatically on the mountainside, its massive terraces and stone structures reveal the importance of this site during the Inca era.

Before finishing the day, take some time to wander through the town itself. Ollantaytambo is particularly remarkable for preserving much of its original Inca urban layout, with narrow cobblestone streets, traditional stone buildings, and ancient foundations still integrated into everyday life. Full-Day Machu Picchu

One of the highlights of your journey awaits today: Machu Picchu, the legendary Inca citadel hidden among the mountains of the Andes.

At the specified time, you will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the train station. The journey to Aguas Calientes is an experience in itself, with spectacular views of the Vilcanota River, dramatic mountain peaks, and traditional Andean villages along the way.

From Aguas Calientes, continue towards Machu Picchu to explore its ancient ruins and discover the fascinating history, beliefs, and mysteries surrounding this extraordinary Inca sanctuary. Learn about its association with prosperity and protection before creating your own version.

With a blank Torito and a selection of materials at your disposal, you will decorate the figure while enjoying a local coffee-based cocktail. An expert artist will then introduce you to the traditional Cusqueñian colonial gilding technique, using delicate metal sheets to give your creation its final touch.

Your handmade Torito will be yours to take home, making for a personal souvenir and a creative reminder of your time in Cusco.

Half-Day Pre-Columbian Art Immersion at MAP by Night
