Buenos Aires

Arrival & Transfer

Buenos Aires is a vibrant and cosmopolitan capital, known for its mix of architectural styles, cultural life, and lively atmosphere. Often compared to European cities, it also stands out for its own identity, shaped by history, immigration, and local traditions.

Take this first day to walk its streets, discover its neighborhoods, and ease into the rhythm of the city as your journey through Argentina and Chile begins.

Buenos Aires

Exploring the City
In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel to enjoy a half-day city tour through Buenos Aires. Over the course of the visit, you will discover the city’s main landmarks and neighborhoods.

The tour begins at Plaza de Mayo, the historical and political center, where you will see Casa Rosada. From there, you will continue to San Telmo, known for its cobblestone streets, and La Boca, where colorful houses and local culture define the atmosphere.

The experience also includes Recoleta, an elegant neighborhood characterized by its architecture and refined character.

After the tour, you will return to your hotel and have time to rest before the evening activity.

Tango Show & Dinner
In the evening, you will be taken to a traditional venue to experience Argentine tango. More than a dance, tango reflects the country’s cultural identity, shaped by music, history, and emotion.

You will enjoy a live performance with professional dancers and musicians in a classic setting that recreates the atmosphere of Buenos Aires from decades past. The experience includes dinner with Argentine and international options, along with a selection of wines.

Bariloche

From Buenos Aires to the Lake District
Today, you will be transferred from your hotel to the domestic airport for your flight to Bariloche, marking the beginning of your Patagonia experience. The flight takes you south into Argentina’s Lake District, where landscapes begin to change dramatically.

Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day will be free for you to relax or start exploring the surroundings.

Set on the shores of Lake Nahuel Huapi, Bariloche is known for its alpine scenery, with mountains, forests, and lakes shaping the landscape. The area offers a wide range of activities throughout the year, from hiking and lake excursions to winter sports.

Bariloche

Exploring the Lake District
This morning, you will set out on a full-day excursion to discover the landscapes and history of Bariloche and its surroundings. Accompanied by a local guide, you will explore some of the region’s most iconic viewpoints and natural areas.

One of the highlights is Cerro Campanario, known for its panoramic views over lakes and mountains. From the top, you will take in the scenery that defines the Lake District, often considered among the most remarkable viewpoints in Patagonia.

Lakes, Forests & Landmarks
The journey continues around Lake Nahuel Huapi and Moreno Lake, with views of López and Capilla mountains along the way. You will also pass by the well-known Llao Llao Hotel and enter Llao Llao Municipal Park, where you can walk through native forest and observe the distinctive arrayanes trees.

During the day, you will have time to pause, enjoy the surroundings, and take in the natural setting. A boxed lunch is included to complement the experience.

At the end of the excursion, you will return to your hotel after a day focused on the landscapes and heritage of Argentine Patagonia.

Bariloche

Free Time in the Lake District
Today is free for you to continue enjoying Bariloche at your own pace. You can explore the town, walk along the lake, or simply relax and take in the alpine scenery that defines this region of Patagonia.

Optional Experience: Rafting on the Manso River
If you are looking for an active experience, an optional rafting excursion on the Manso River can be arranged. The day begins with a scenic drive along Route 40, passing lakes such as Gutiérrez, Mascardi, and Guillelmo, with views of the surrounding mountains and forests.

Along the way, you will stop at a Mapuche community, where you will share a traditional breakfast and learn about local culture and customs.

The rafting experience takes place on the emerald waters of the Manso River, navigating medium-intensity rapids for about an hour, surrounded by a lush valley. Depending on conditions, there may be time for a short swim.

After the activity, you will enjoy lunch at a local restaurant before returning to Bariloche.

This optional excursion offers a different perspective of the region, combining nature, culture, and adventure.

From Bariloche to Puerto Varas

Across the Andes by Land & Water
Today, you will cross from Argentina to Chile on a full-day journey through the Patagonian Lake District. This route combines bus transfers and navigations, offering a continuous connection between landscapes shaped by mountains, forests, and water.

The day begins early with a transfer from your hotel in Bariloche to Puerto Pañuelo, where you will board a boat to navigate Lake Nahuel Huapi toward Puerto Blest. Surrounded by forests and peaks, this first crossing sets the tone for the journey ahead.

Lakes, Mountains & Border Crossing
From Puerto Blest, you will continue by bus to Puerto Alegre and then cross Lake Frías, with views of Mount Tronador along the way. Upon reaching Puerto Frías, you will complete border formalities and enter Chile.

The route then continues across the Andes by land to Peulla, a small village set in a remote natural environment, where you will have time for a break.

Final Navigation & Arrival
In the afternoon, you will navigate Todos los Santos Lake, where, weather permitting, you may see Osorno and Puntiagudo volcanoes rising above the landscape.

The final stretch is by road from Petrohué to Puerto Varas, passing Lake Llanquihue before arriving at your hotel.

Puerto Varas

Day at Leisure in the Lake District
Today is free for you to enjoy Puerto Varas at your own pace. Set on the shores of Lake Llanquihue and facing the Osorno Volcano, this town is known for its scenic setting and relaxed atmosphere.

A Town with Heritage
Puerto Varas reflects its German heritage through its architecture and traditions. As you walk through the town, you will notice wooden houses, historic churches, and gardens that give it a distinctive character within Chile’s Lake District.

Local Flavors
Take the opportunity to explore the local gastronomy, influenced by this cultural blend. Regional specialties include kuchen, homemade jams—especially those made from local berries—and dishes featuring salmon from the surrounding waters.

Puerto Natales

Today, you will be transferred from your hotel in Puerto Varas to Puerto Montt airport for your flight to Punta Arenas. Upon arrival, a transfer will take you to Puerto Natales, a journey of approximately one hour through the southern Patagonian landscape.

Located on the shores of the Última Esperanza Sound, Puerto Natales is the starting point for visits to Torres del Paine National Park.

The rest of the day will be free to relax or explore the town at your own pace. You can walk along the waterfront, take in the views of the fjord, or enjoy the local cafés before continuing your journey through Patagonia.

Torres del Paine

Into Chilean Patagonia
Today, you will set out early from Puerto Natales for a full-day excursion to Torres del Paine National Park. On the way, you will visit the Milodón Cave, a natural monument composed of large caverns and unique rock formations, including the so-called “Devil’s Chair.”

Scenic Route to the Park
The journey continues toward the park, passing through landscapes shaped by lakes, mountains, and open plains. Along the route, you will see Sofía Lagoon, the Prat Range, and Porteño Lake before reaching the first viewpoints of Torres del Paine.

Exploring the Park
Once inside the park, you will visit key sites such as Grey Lake, where you can take a walk along the shore and observe ice formations drifting from the glacier.

After a break for lunch (not included), the tour continues to the Salto Grande sector, followed by a stop at Nordenskjöld Lake viewpoint. You will also visit a turquoise waterfall fed by the Paine River, adding another perspective to the park’s landscapes.

Return to Puerto Natales
Before heading back, there will be a final stop at Sarmiento Lake viewpoint, offering one last panoramic view of the Torres del Paine massif.

If you choose to explore further, a city tour offers insight into the history of this Patagonian town. As you move through its streets, you will discover stories of early settlers, sailors, and ranching life that shaped the region.

The visit may include stops at the Historical Museum, which provides context about the area’s development, and the Braun House, reflecting life in the early 20th century. Along the waterfront, the historic pier highlights the importance of Puerto Natales as a key port in southern Patagonia.

Between each stop, the surrounding landscape—mountains, water, and open skies—remains a constant presence, giving the town its distinctive character.

This optional experience offers a deeper understanding of Puerto Natales, combining local history with its natural setting.

El Calafate

Today, you will travel by bus from Puerto Natales to El Calafate, a journey of approximately 5 hours. You will need to make your own way to the bus station—most hotels are within walking distance, or you can take a short taxi ride. It is recommended to arrive at least 30 minutes before departure.

Upon arrival in El Calafate, you will head to your hotel and have the rest of the day at leisure.

Arrival in El Calafate
Located on the shores of Lake Argentino, El Calafate is one of Patagonia’s main gateways to its glacial landscapes. The town is best known as the access point to Los Glaciares National Park, home to the Perito Moreno Glacier—one of the few glaciers in the world that continues to advance.

Take the afternoon to settle in, explore the town, or prepare for the experiences ahead in this unique natural setting.

El Calafate

Meet Patagonia’s Icy Giant
Today, you will visit one of Patagonia’s most remarkable natural landmarks: the Perito Moreno Glacier. In the morning, you will be picked up from your hotel and travel to Los Glaciares National Park, enjoying views of the Patagonian steppe along the way.

Up Close to the Glacier
Once inside the park, you will explore a network of walkways that lead to different viewpoints overlooking the glacier. From here, you will experience its scale and presence from multiple angles, often hearing the deep sounds of ice shifting. With some luck, you may witness a calving event, when large pieces of ice break off and crash into the lake below.

During the visit, a bilingual guide will share insights into the glacier’s formation, movement, and surrounding environment.

Boat Navigation
To complement the experience, you will take a boat ride along the glacier’s front wall, allowing you to approach its towering ice formations and appreciate its height and textures from the water.

If you would like to discover another side of the region, an optional excursion to a traditional estancia can be arranged. Located within Los Glaciares National Park, this ranch offers insight into rural life in Patagonia.

During the visit, you will learn about the history of the estancia and its ongoing activities, including sheep and cattle breeding. The experience may include demonstrations such as sheep shearing and horse handling, providing a closer look at local traditions.

To conclude the day, you will enjoy a typical Patagonian meal, often featuring lamb prepared over an open fire.

This optional tour adds a cultural dimension to your trip, complementing the natural landscapes of the region.

Ushuaia

Today, you will be transferred from your hotel in El Calafate to the airport for your flight to Ushuaia, the southernmost city in Argentina.

Ushuaia is a compact town, easy to explore on foot and surrounded by mountains, forests, and the Beagle Channel. Its history dates back to the Yámana people, the region’s original inhabitants, and later to its development as a penal colony in the late 19th century.

Take the afternoon to walk around town, enjoy the views, or simply settle in as you reach the southernmost point of your Patagonia journey.

Ushuaia

Into the National Park
Today, you will explore Tierra del Fuego National Park on a full-day adventure. After being picked up from your hotel, you will head toward the park, located just outside Ushuaia along the Beagle Channel.

The experience begins at Ensenada Bay, where you will take in views of the coastline before starting a coastal hike. The trail covers approximately 6 km, passing through native forest and areas where traces of the Yámana culture can still be found.

Hike & Picnic Lunch
After around three hours of walking, you will reach Lake Roca, where a picnic lunch will be served in a natural setting.

Canoeing to Lapataia Bay
In the afternoon, you will continue the experience with a canoeing activity along the Lapataia River. This section lasts about one and a half hours and leads to Lapataia Bay, where National Route 3 and the Pan-American Highway come to an end.

Return to Ushuaia
After completing the excursion, you will be transferred back to your hotel. This day combines hiking and navigation, offering a closer connection to the landscapes of southern Patagonia.

Ushuaia & Buenos Aires

Today, you will explore the Beagle Channel on a half-day navigation. Make your way to the pier in Ushuaia to board a small vessel and begin sailing along this historic waterway, once explored by Charles Darwin.

As you navigate the channel, with Argentina on one side and Chile on the other, you will enjoy views of Ushuaia Bay and the surrounding mountains. Along the route, you will pass the Les Eclaireurs Lighthouse and observe marine wildlife such as cormorants and sea lions.

The excursion also includes a stop at Bridges Island, where you can walk through the landscape and learn about the remains of the Yámana culture with your guide.

After the navigation, you will return to the port and make your way back to your hotel or continue exploring the town.

Flight to Buenos Aires

Optional Experience: Estancia Visit
If you would like to discover Argentina’s rural traditions, an optional full-day excursion to an estancia can be arranged. Located in the countryside of Buenos Aires province, these historic ranches preserve the culture of the gauchos.

A visit to San Antonio de Areco offers insight into this heritage, with time to explore its streets, small museums, and traditional stores. The experience continues at a working estancia, where you can enjoy a typical Argentine asado and take part in activities such as horseback riding or cycling.

For a more relaxed pace, the estancia also offers open spaces to unwind and enjoy the surroundings.

At the end of the day, you will return to Buenos Aires. This optional excursion provides a different perspective, connecting the city with the traditions of the Argentine countryside.

Departure from Buenos Aires

At the scheduled time, you will be transferred from your hotel to the international airport for your onward flight.
