Upon arrival, you will be transferred to your hotel in Salta.

Half-Day Salta Walking Tour

At the agreed time, the guide will meet you at your hotel to begin a walking tour of the city. We will stroll through Salta to discover its historical and architectural heritage. We will walk around the main square, surrounded by the Cathedral and the historic Cabildo. We will also see the Church of San Francisco and the Convent of San Bernardo. In addition, we will visit the Museum of High Altitude Archaeology (MAAM), which houses the Llullaillaco mummies and other exhibits in a 19th-century building.

At the end of the tour, the guide will accompany you back to the hotel.

Transfer Salta via Purmamarca / Tres Morros

You will be picked up at your hotel in Salta to venture into the most spectacular landscapes of the Argentine North.

First destination is Purmamarca, a picturesque village frozen in time at the foot of the majestic Seven Colors Mountain. where you will have time to wander through its vibrant artisan markets and, depending on the timing, enjoy some free time for a delicious regional lunch.In the afternoon, our journey continues climbing higher into the Puna.

We will head towards Tres Morros, in order to meet Pristine Camps stafff will be waiting to welcome you and manage your transfer into the heart of the salt flats for an unforgettable luxury experience.

Welcome to the Salt Flats’ Pristine Camps domes!

Today you will head to Pristine Camps, Argentina’s first high-end Luxury Camp, located 8 kilometers (5 miles) into the heart of Jujuy’s Salt Flats. Once you have arrived at the meeting point in the town of Tres Morros, a guide will meet you to accompany you on a 20-30 minute transfer to the domes.

At the hotel you will be welcomed with a drink, and then you can check in to your room. In the afternoon, you can enjoy a delicious snack in Salinas, and also visit the exclusive Pristine Camp’s Salar Pools to learn about the salt extraction process. Don’t miss the magic hour! Enjoy the sunset in a unique place in our country, and then delight yourself with an Andean flavors’ dinner at the restaurant or at the central deck.

End the day by participating in a guided interpretation of the salt flat’s constellations.

Full day in Barrancas

After breakfast, you will be ready to enjoy the day. Today we will make a full day visit to Barrancas.

This tour can be done entirely by vehicle, or it can be combined with trekking. We will take part in an archaeological interpretation experience carried out with a specialized guide, visiting the Municipal Reserve and the “Piedra Mapa” circuit. Then, we will enjoy a gourmet picnic, specially prepared by the Pristine Camps chef, on the bed of the Barrancas River. Finally we will visit the town’s new Archaeological Interpretation Center of the town of Barrancas. We will return to the camp in time to watch the magic hour once more (it is never the same!). Regional dinner at the restaurant or at the central deck.

Goodbye, Pristine Camps!

After having breakfast at dawn or at the usual time, you will be transferred back to the meeting point in the Tres Morros village. Your driver will pick you up at Tres Morros to start your transfer to San Pedro de Atacama, Chile across the Paso de Jama border.

Welcome to Explora Atacama

Explora Atacama is located in the oasis of San Pedro de Atacama, in the beautiful Ayllu de Larache, once inhabited by ancient Atacameño families. San Pedro is a beautiful adobe city surrounded by the most dramatic features of the desert: salt flats, volcanoes, geysers, hot springs, windswept sand dunes, and many others.

Upon arrival at Explora, the staff will explain everything you need to know about your stay and the available included activities, which you can choose according to your preferences. You will have various options to do, such as hiking, overland, biking, horseback riding, for half a day or a full day, with different levels of difficulty.

At night, you can enjoy stargazing sessions at the Explora observatory. Depending on your arrival time, you may be able to take a half-day excursion in the surroundings of the lodge, or enjoy the spa. During your stay all meals and different exploration options will be included. Keep in mind that the activities do not operate daily, please verify upon arrival the best plan according to your stay.

Have you decided what to do today? We recommend you visit the Puritama Hot Springs. We will go by truck to Guatin, where we will begin a hike uphill. We will walk for about 30 minutes among huge cacti to the Puritama river ravine. There, we will descend to walk next to the river, between rock walls and vegetation. We will arrive at the Puritama Hot Springs where we can relax.

Choose from Explora Atacama activities options

Today we suggest you the high mountain exploration to the Kimal hill, to enjoy one of the best views of Atacama. We will ride a van for two hours to the Domeyko Mountain Range, until we reach the Kimal hill, the source of one of the most iconic Atacameño legends. We walk up a steep trail to the summit with panoramic views to the salt field and the mythical Licancabur and Juriques volcanoes. We descend and return to the hotel.

Farewell Explora Atacama

Time to say goodbye to Atacama! At appropriate time, you will be transferred to the airport. If your flight leaves late in the afternoon, you may have time to take a half day excursion, or just to relax at any of the areas of the lodge.
